Overview

useInvites is operated by Fairgo Logistics (ABN 94 279 467 365). We collect only the information needed to run the site, operate user accounts, facilitate professional networking, and improve the product. This includes account details provided through Clerk, public profile information you choose to add, connection requests, referral code submissions, moderation activity, and basic technical data such as IP address, browser, and device information.

Information We Collect

We may collect your username, email address, Clerk account identifiers, public profile data (including professional experience and bios), submitted invite codes or links, and any contact information or messages you provide when initiating a connection with another user.

Country Detection

Referral offers are usually only valid in certain countries, so we work out which country you are browsing from in order to show you codes that are actually useful to you.

We do this from the approximate location our hosting provider derives from your IP address, and from your browser’s language settings. We never store your IP address for this purpose — only a two-letter country code, saved in a cookie named ui_country on your own device. No city-level or more precise location is recorded, and it is not used to identify you.

Detection is only ever a suggestion. We never redirect you automatically, every country’s codes stay reachable, and choosing a different country from the filter overrides the detected one for as long as you keep the cookie. Clearing your cookies removes both. If you set a country on your profile, that is the one we use — an IP lookup will never overwrite it.

Direct Professional Connections & Messaging

A core feature of our platform is facilitating professional networking. When you use our platform to send a connection request or message to another user, you understand and agree that the contact information you provide (such as your email or phone number) and the content of your message will be transmitted directly to the requested user. Please exercise caution and do not share sensitive personal information in initial connection requests.

Saved Profiles

You can bookmark another member so you can find them again later, and attach a private note to remind yourself why. Saving someone is completely private. The member you save is never notified, your note is never shown to them, and no count of how many people have saved a member appears anywhere on the site.

Your saved list and its notes are visible only to you, at /dashboard/saved, where you can edit or remove any entry at any time. If either account is deleted, the saved entry and its note are deleted with it. Notes are screened against our content policy in the same way as anything else stored on the site.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to authenticate users, display public profiles, facilitate introductions between peers, review and moderate brand or code requests, prevent abuse, maintain site security, analyze product usage, and comply with legal obligations.

Public Content

Content you submit for publication, including your username, professional bio, experience, referral links, and related insights, will become publicly visible. Do not submit private, confidential, or sensitive information you do not want others to see on your public profile.

Sharing

We share information with other users only when you explicitly request a connection. We may also share information with service providers that help us run the platform, including hosting, email delivery (such as Resend for connection notifications), authentication, analytics, and infrastructure providers. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the platform and its users.

Cookies and Third-Party Tracking

While we do not directly drop advertising cookies, we use essential third-party services to operate and analyze our platform. We use Clerk for secure user authentication, and Google Analytics 4 and Amplitude to analyze website traffic and product usage. Additionally, individual end user tracking and data sharing with third parties for advertising and marketing purposes may take place on our web properties. These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, local storage, and similar technologies to collect information about your interactions with the site.

Opt-Out Instructions: You can opt out of analytics tracking by disabling cookies in your browser settings or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. If you interact with our advertisements on third-party networks (like Microsoft Advertising), you can manage your ad preferences and opt out of personalized tracking by visiting aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org/choices.

Data Retention

We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce our policies, and comply with legal obligations. Moderation records may be retained even if a submission is rejected or removed.

Your Choices

You can update certain account and profile details through your dashboard and may request removal of submitted content or account information where applicable. Some information may be retained if necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, or profile individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.
